NICOS 3.13 has been released

NICOS 3.13 is now available for download.

Changes in this release series:

  • Core

    • Declaring an override for a non-existing parameter now raises an exception.

  • Commands

    • Added ClearAllCache() to replace ClearCache('*').

  • Devices

    • Added a simple crystal monochromator device.

    • The EPICS devices package structure has been changed; the misleading nicos.devices.epics.pva does not exist anymore.

    • Added new EPICS motor class based on caproto.

    • Added support for SECoP Acquisition based modules.

    • All doReference implementations have been checked to be blocking. The additional “device-specific” argument of reference() has been removed.

  • Services

    • Retry device creation in poller after device is successfully created in the daemon.

    • Added Elog handler for MLZ ELN.

  • Installer

    • Refactor Mac bundles to make the GUI app start more quickly.

  • Tests

    • Change the structure for the facility specific setups.

    • Use newer pytest style recommendations for tests.
